Mt. Lassen

Here is a nice view of Mt. Lassen from state highway 89. This was taken about 35 miles west of Susanville near the small town of Chester, CA. Mt. Lassen and Lassen County (Susanville is the only incorporated town in Lassen County) are named after Peter Lassen, an early pioneer.

Are you on a lookout? Thats a grea view. Love the green trees and the snow on the mountain.

This would be a fine post for the Sky Watch Friday meme!

For Sky Watch over at San Francisco Bay Daily Photo, we have a dance between the moon and the fog at midnight.

I had my mom pull over to the side of the road for that photo. The highway has alot of hilly areas and we stopped at the top of a hill.

Looks like Lassen has lost a lot of snow already. Has it been hot down your way?

The weather has finally warmed up in this area. We didn't have as much snow like we usually do. Then in May it would warm up to the 90s, then cool down to the 60s. It was a weird month! This month its been in the 80s and now 90s.
